At least half the students on each of 279 teams competing in a UAE-wide robotics league must have intellectual and developmental disabilities, as schools across the country put students with and without disabilities together to design robots and tackle coding challenges. The 2026 Unified Robotics League brings together 1,007 students from 254 schools across Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Al Dhafra, Dubai and Sharjah, with qualifying rounds beginning in Al Ain on Monday. Construction of Kalba Beach is 75 per cent complete, with work on the 700-metre waterfront development expected to finish by December 2026, the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) has announced. The authority also said the Kalba Rock Art Centre, being delivered by the Department of Public Works, is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2027. DUBAI, 26th October, 2026 (WAM) — Nakheel, a member of Dubai Holding Real Estate, has awarded Parkway International Contracting LLC a construction contract valued at more than AED 950 million for Phases 2 and 4 of Bay Grove Residences on Dubai Islands. ABU DHABI, 26th October, 2026 (WAM) — Al Ain defeated Iran’s Tractor FC 2-1 at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium on Monday in the third round of the AFC Champions League Elite league stage. The victory took Al Ain to nine points from three matches, maintaining their perfect record and top position in the standings, while Tractor remained on one point.
