ROME, 22nd August, 2026 (WAM) — Italy’s natural gas reserves have approached 80 %, more than two months ahead of the October 31 storage deadline, though levels remain lower than those recorded at the same point last year. According to data released by Gas Infrastructure Europe (GIE), Italian gas storage reached 79.78 percent, equivalent to approximately 162.3 TWh, compared to 85.56 percent (173.7 TWh) during the corresponding period last year.
