As rain-bearing clouds move inland across the UAE this week, residents could face more than just wet weather, with occasional heavy showers, thunder and gusty winds potentially affecting conditions on the ground. BEIJING, 12th October, 2026 (WAM) — Chinese scientists have developed a nuclear clock and achieved stable operation, shifting ultra-precise time measurement from electron transitions inside atoms to transitions within atomic nuclei. Solid-state nuclear clocks have potential advantages in miniaturisation and engineering, and are expected to meet the high-precision time and frequency requirements in such scenarios as satellite navigation and deep-space exploration. SHARJAH, 13th October, 2026 (WAM) — The UAE Shooting Federation has concluded the UAE Open 10-metre air rifle and air pistol championship, hosted by Sharjah Club from 9th to 11th October 2026. It was the second of eight rounds in the 2026-2027 domestic season. The championship recorded 280 entries across its junior and beginner events, with beginners accounting for 257 of them.
