DUBAI, 20th August, 2026 (WAM) — Dubai’s real estate sector recorded strong growth during the first half of 2026, according to data released by the Dubai Land Department. A total of 104 real estate projects were completed, compared to 75 during the first half of 2025, representing an increase of more than 38.7%. The total investment value of these projects exceeded AED111 billion, compared to AED73 billion in the first half of 2025, marking growth of 52%. CAIRO, 20th August, 2026 (WAM) — The Central Bank of Egypt’s (CBE) Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) kept its key interest rates unchanged at its latest meeting, maintaining a cautious stance as it assesses inflation trends and the economic outlook. BRUSSELS, 20th August, 2026 (WAM) — The European Union’s natural gas storage stands at 62% of capacity, according to European Commission spokesperson Eva Hrncirova on Thursday. She stated there is no immediate concern about natural gas supply in the bloc. Data from Gas Infrastructure Europe showed that EU-wide gas storage was filled to 74% of capacity at the same time last year. ABU DHABI, 20th August, 2026 (WAM) — Al Ain Misdemeanour Court has convicted two defendants of assaulting a petrol station employee by force and violence while performing his duties as a public service employee, following a dispute over cleaning a vehicle’s windscreen. The court ordered the defendants to perform two months’ community service at the same petrol station where the incident took place and fined each AED 50,000 for assaulting a public service employee and disturbing public order.
