Sharjah Police denied on Friday that it had raised any media concerns regarding the disappearance of the wife of an Asian man and his son following a murder case that occurred last month.
The authority confirmed that the victim’s wife and son had left the country and had headed to their hometown. There were no recorded reports indicating their disappearance, the authority said.
A report was submitted to her regarding a suspected death due to murder, the police said, and specialised teams were sent to the scene, where they began their procedures to examine the location and gather evidence and information related to the incident. The body was then taken to the forensic laboratory, as ordered by the Public Prosecution.
The investigation and criminal investigations department began searching and gathering evidence and information, and through tracking and linking the information, they were able to uncover the details of the crime.
Based on the findings of the investigations, legal actions were taken against the suspects, and the case was referred to the Public Prosecution to complete the legal procedures.
The General Directorate of Sharjah Police emphasised the importance of obtaining information from official sources, verifying accuracy before disseminating news and information, and not publishing information that has not been verified for its accuracy, as it could lead to misinformation and affect the course of legal proceedings.
It urged members of society and media to refer to official channels for accurate information.
